Leonard and Mary meet in a car crash. They fall instantly in love, and live happily ever after…until Mary gets sick. Desperate to save her, Leonard decides that he can build their house into a healing machine that will cure her cancer. Inspired by the real actions of the eccentric Leonard Wood, filmmaker Brent Green brings to life this love story like no other in his first feature-length film. Shot entirely on the full-scale town he built in his backyard, Green combines animation and stop-motion in an ethereal opus to lovers and tinkerers everywhere.PLEASE NOTE: This presentation is a Gala Screening of the Ottawa International Animation Festival. Passholders have priority seating at Gala screenings (jury and filmmakers in attendance), but there may be tickets on sale available at the door 15 min. before showtime. OIAF admission is $12 General, $7 for ByTowne members.
The ByTowne doesn't have a parking lot of its own, but denizens of downtown can usually find street parking close by fairly easily.
