Ottawa International Animation Festival, October 20 to 24Leonard and Mary meet in a car crash. They fall instantly in love, and live happily ever after…until Mary gets sick. Desperate to save her, Leonard decides that he can build their house into a healing machine that will cure her cancer. Inspired by the real actions of the eccentric Leonard Wood, filmmaker Brent Green brings to life this love story like no other in his first feature-length film. Shot entirely on the full-scale town he built in his backyard, Green combines animation and stop-motion in an ethereal opus to lovers and tinkerers everywhere.

Feature animated film The IllusionistFollowing up his début, the acclaimed animated feature The Triplets Of Belleville, writer-helmer-animator-composer Sylvain Chomet doesn't disappoint with his delightful sophomore outing, The Illusionist. Based on an unproduced script by Jacques Tati, the film’s tale of a French conjuror (modeled on Tati) who befriends a naive lass in late-1950s Scotland is a very happy marriage of Tati’s and Chomet’s distinctive artistic sensibilities.

The best new animation from around the world featuring short films, music videos, commercials, TV work, student films and more. Passholders have priority seating at GALA screenings (jury and filmmakers in attendance), but there are tickets on sale at the door 15 min. before showtime. At regular screenings, tickets are on sale 30 min. before showtime.
 
There are five different programmes in all; each is approximately 90 min.
