Alberta Number 1

Q&A with Director Alexander Carson

Join us for a special screening featuring a Q&A with director Alexander Carson!

An eccentric documentary crew travels across Alberta, Canada, documenting monuments, museums, and roadside curiosities. With a vague vision for the project, the unconventional director navigates messy personal entanglements and rivalries among her collaborators. As they seek meaning in the landscape, they also reflect on their own lives.

This charming journey blends the elements of a revisionist Western and a road movie, featuring moments of tenderness and unexpected violence, while envisioning a radical and caring wildness on the Canadian frontier.
