Thank You, Ottawa!

The ByTowne is now closed.

It's possible that, after the pandemic has been brought under control,
new management will take over the space and offer big-screen wonderfulness again.

The building is being maintained, with all its facilities and equipment intact,
in preparation for that hoped-for day.

Best Of The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival

Admission $16; tickets available at the ByTowne box office (cash only) or online at (service charges apply).

ByTowne customers who attend the Best Of The Banff Mountain Film Festival will quickly understand what the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF) is all about. Both festivals use the ‘mountain’ theme to celebrate and embrace mountain culture, outdoor sports, and environmental initiatives, using the medium of film.

For the first time, Ottawa will host a screening of the Best Of VIMFF (presented in co-operation with Mountain Equipment Co-op), and it arrives about half-way around the calendar from our Banff shows, to satisfy an itch that maybe you didn’t even know you had. Until now.

The program includes films on alpine climbing, mountain biking, heli-skiing and much more, all shown in gorgeous high-definition on our big ByTowne screen. And most importantly, it includes NONE of the films that you may have already enjoyed at our Best Of Banff shows.
