Different name, same great collection of the world's best ads!

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise: an organization devoted to advertising has re-branded itself. Last year, the annual ByTowne event formerly known as the Cannes Intenational Advertising Festival began calling itself the Cannes Lions International Festival Of Creativity, but it’s still the same great compilation that you’ve known for years.

MacGyvered poster for Cannes Lions Festival Of Creativity 2018For those of you who are less familiar, the Festival Of Creativity (held in June in Cannes, France) is a mecca for advertising agencies from all over the world. Last year, over 90 nations were represented. From about 5000 entries, the judges at the Festival select winners of their coveted Bronze, Silver and Gold Lions, representing the best of the year’s advertising, in a myriad of categories.

From the television and cinema categories, the Festival compiles a ‘winners reel’. The result is what you get to see at the ByTowne – 112 big-screen minutes of the most entertaining sales pitches you’ll see all year, representing top ad agencies from Brazil, the U.S., Canada, Germany, Australia, the U.K., and many more.

Some ads will be familiar, some will be very foreign. Many will be shown in their full, first-broadcast length. And all will be illuminating examples of short-form filmmaking at their commercial best!
