Isle Of Dogs

Isle Of Dogs finds writer/director Wes Anderson returning to stop-motion animation almost a decade after Fantastic Mr. Fox, and delivering a film with even more heart and beauty. And it’s a post-apocalyptic comedy. Seriously. The story takes place in a near-future Japan where an epidemic of Snout Fever has led the mayor of Megasaki to exile all canines to the offshore Trash Island, leading to the formation of a new four-legged society, with factions of dogs surviving by any means necessary.

Poster for Wes Anderson's Isle Of DogsInto this savage land comes young human Atari (voiced by Koyu Rankin), searching for his beloved Spots, the first dog sent to Trash Island. He’s reluctantly aided on his quest by Rex (Edward Norton), Boss (Bill Murray), King (Bob Balaban), Duke (Jeff Goldblum) and the cynical Chief (Bryan Cranston).

Captivating from the first frames and ingenious in its design, Isle Of Dogs is as glorious and layered an entertainment as Anderson’s last live-action venture, The Grand Budapest Hotel.
