OTTAWA’S CINEMA FOR INTERNATIONAL AND INDEPENDENT MOVIES

COVID-19 Update

Well, it's officially official that, despite our best efforts, and (in our humble opinion) excellent safety measures, Stage 2 (modified) is upon us, and we will be closed from Saturday, October 10 for at least 28 days. All screenings scheduled for October are cancelled.

As soon as we have news about re-opening, we will announce it via Cinem@il (subscribe via our homepage) and on our social media channels (linked above).

Keep distancing, keep wearing your masks, keep washing your hands, and stay safe, so that we can all meet at the movies soon!

Paddling Film Festival 2020

Sorry! Both shows SOLD OUT.

Presented by Madawaska Kanu Centre

If you wish you were on the water instead stuck in lockdown isolation, we’ve got a compromise: The Paddling Film Festival is two and a half hours of short films that will transport you from your physically distanced cinema seat to a canoe, kayak, raft or SUP, on adventures that you’ll wish you were having in real life.

Poster for the 2020 edition of the Paddling Film FestivalThese are this year’s best films about putting a paddle in the water, selected from dozens of submissions to this year’s festival organizers. They represent all types of paddle experiences, and were filmed on seas, lakes, rivers and whitewater all over the world.

Two and a half hours is a lot of paddling, so there’s an intermission to stretch your legs, complete with door prizes from our wonderful co-sponsors at Madawaska Kanu Centre (www.mkc.ca).
