This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Canada and the Republic of Korea. To celebrate this significant milestone, the 6th Ottawa Korean Film Festival features many dynamic Korean films, including selections by Canadian film festival directors, both in-person and online.
The Film:
There’s no romance! Only schemes to kill Jon Na! Yeo-rae(Lee Ha-nee) is a top star who became a laughingstock because of her bad acting skills. To escape from reality, she heads to Qualla Island and is saved by Jonathan(Lee Sun-kyun). Yeo-rae marries Jonathan and retires from show business. Meanwhile, Bum-woo(Gong Myung) is a long-time student who’s trying to get into Seoul University for the fourth year in a row. He used to be part of Yeo-rae’s fan club, so when he learns that Yeo-rae has moved next door to him, he is delighted. Yeo-rae is tired of being Jonathan’s doll. She wants to make a comeback on the big screen, so she asks Bum-woo for help. The two of them start scheming to kill Jonathan and take back Yeo-rae’s life.
